ABOUT US
We Design for the People Who Live There.
Every Soda Pop home begins with understanding—not an aesthetic.
We listen closely, look beyond the obvious and get curious about how you live, what isn't working and what would make home feel better. Then we bring together intuition, creativity, thoughtful space planning and construction knowledge to create something distinctly yours.
Because the best homes don't look like they were designed for someone else.
They feel unmistakably like you.

Our Design Philosophy
We believe a beautiful home should first and foremost be a good home to live in.
That means thinking beyond how a room looks to how it flows, functions and feels. It means questioning the obvious solution when there's a better one. It means understanding the relationship between architecture, furnishings and the people using them—because none of those things exist in isolation.
We don't begin with a prescribed aesthetic or a signature look. We begin with you.
Your routines. Your quirks. The things you love. The things driving you crazy. The way your family gathers, entertains, escapes, works and lives.
From there, we design with purpose—balancing creativity with practicality, beauty with function and the unexpected with what feels completely natural.
The result isn't simply a beautiful Soda Pop home.
It's a home that feels beautifully, unmistakably yours.

MEET THE FOUNDER
Cynthia Soda
Principal Interior Designer | BID | ARIDO | IDC | NCIDQ
Cynthia Soda is a Registered Interior Designer, founder and Principal Designer of Soda Pop Design Inc., bringing more than a decade of residential design experience—and a lifetime around construction—to the homes she designs.
A graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University's School of Interior Design (formerly Ryerson), Cynthia founded Soda Pop Design in 2012 after gaining experience with leading design firms and earning her professional credentials through ARIDO, IDC and NCIDQ.
But her relationship with homes started much earlier.
Cynthia grew up around construction and renovation, eventually co-founding a residential construction company with her father and spending years working alongside the people responsible for actually building what designers put on paper. That experience continues to shape the way she designs today: creatively, certainly—but always with an understanding of space, detail, constructability and what happens after a drawing leaves the studio.
She's perhaps best known, however, for something that's harder to put on a résumé.
Cynthia has an uncanny ability to understand people.
She listens closely, picks up on what clients aren't always able to articulate and sees possibilities in their homes they often haven't considered themselves. It's why her projects don't share a signature aesthetic. Her instinct is not to design a home that looks like hers—it's to uncover what will make it feel genuinely personal to you.
Sometimes that means challenging an assumption. Sometimes it means gently talking you out of something. And sometimes it means showing you an idea you never would have asked for because you didn't know it was possible.
That combination of intuition, spatial thinking, creativity and construction knowledge has become the foundation of Soda Pop Design—and the reason clients trust Cynthia to see the forest, the trees and quite often, what could be growing there next.
UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH CYNTHIA
What inspired you to become and Interior Designer?
I grew up in and around construction and renovations all my life. As I got older I started to pay attention to and care about how these home projects turned out (and naturally felt like someone had to intervene when my dad paired green tiles with leftover pink grout) ;)
Where did “Soda Pop" Design come from?
My nickname "Soda Pop" stuck with me through school. In university, I dreamed of a design/build firm with my dad called "Soda & Pop." When I launched solo, Soda Pop Design was born, capturing my playful spirit and passion for design.
Who's part of my bustling day-to-day life?
My best friend, teammate and husband, Matt, our 4 children and our sweet, needy and always hungry silver lab, Coco
Did you know?
I won my first internship competing against 11 other aspiring designers on Season 1 of an HGTV reality series. Apparently I've never been particularly interested in taking the conventional route.; I’ve wanted to be a mom since I was 9; I used to paint and draw lifelike portraits - my favourite thing to draw were the eyes; the first language I learned was Italian (even though I’m not fluent anymore I feel if I was left alone in Italy for a few weeks it would all come back)
I can’t leave the house without
Lip balm, my water bottle and my phone
Something clients quickly learn about me?
I'll tell you what I think. Kindly—but I'm not going to let you make a design decision I don't believe in without at least trying to talk you out of it first.
Home means more when we're able to give beyond our own walls.
Over the years, Soda Pop Design has been proud to support organizations and community initiatives close to our hearts, including SickKids Foundation, Heart & Stroke, Alzheimer's Society, Plan Canada's Because I am a Girl, GoodLife Kids Foundation and local charitable initiatives throughout our Stouffville community.
Design With Heart
Inside our Showroom
Welcome to the place where ideas become tangible.
Our Stouffville studio is part workspace, part material library and part creative playground—a place to spread out drawings, layer finishes, compare samples and bring the pieces of a home together before they ever make their way to site.
The studio itself was a labour of love: an historic Main Street home reimagined and rebuilt by Soda Pop Design from concept through completion.
It's where we design, meet with clients and industry partners, and occasionally cover every available surface with stone, tile, fabric and paint samples in pursuit of getting something just right.
We wouldn't have it any other way.
